The Sting Dolls: Meet Edina
“Now’s the time, book a trip, go surf”
Catch her if you can, Miss Edina, our Sting Doll of the week just can’t stay still! This self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie is always looking for her next adventure. Beachy summers and snowy winters, this athletic babe never skips a beat! Whether it be surfing out at her favorite North County beaches or hitting the slopes anywhere there’s snow, our fun and fearless Hungarian Goddess is always up for the challenge. Not only has Edina had the chance to enjoy the local Southern California beauty, this world class jet setter has traveled to over a dozen countries in her lifetime, maxing out three passports and has a dual citizenship!
Our cultured gal has done everything from hitching rides from elephants in Thailand, to napping with lions while traveling through Africa!
Now, living just steps from the sand, Edina is California dreamin’ under the sun. This Encinitas “local,” spent her summer, paddling out daily into the Pacific Ocean and chasing the best San Diego waves up and down North County’s gorgeous coastlines.
We spent the day with our “Ride or Die” Sting Doll at her favorite Encinitas bay front. Our doll was looking tanned and toned in her new LSpace bikini. After a competitive game of smash ball, we caught up with our surfer girl to get the lowdown on the best thing to happen to her this year, to what keeps her busy when she’s stepped out of fishnets and killer knee high boots and heads up home to “The House of Summer”
Wow Girlfriend, talk about living the life! You live the traveling dream! Can you tell us everywhere you’ve been?
Where do I begin?! I’ve already maxed out 3 passports and coming close to finishing a 4th! I was born in Hungary and traveled most of Europe; I lived in Hungary until I was 7, and all over the Middle East/ United Arab Emirates. I lived in Bahrain for 4 years and then all over Canada and visited most of the provinces. I lived in Ontario for 2 years ALL before I came to California. I Drove across the US to get here and that took 2 long weeks making a few stops along the way of course! I moved to California Bay Area when I was 13 and moved to San Diego for College at UCSD. Now I’ve been here for 14 years. My travels also include Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean, Bahamas, Africa, Greece, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Japan, Switzerland, Thailand and most of Europe!
Impressive!! So when you’re home in San Diego what would you say are your favorite local spots?
I love La Jolla but I live in Encinitas, right between Stone Steps and Beacons both walking distance, so you’ll usually see me frolicking that area. However, If I’m surfing then I surf all the way from Pipes to Ponto Beach. So like Swamis, Beacons, Grandview- depends where the waves at!
Since you’re such a little mermaid what bathing suits do you like to rock?
I love Acacia, Stone Fox Swim, Tori Praver and Lspace. These are the ones I wear the most, although not quite practical for surfing. I gotta keep the buns tan and be comfortable at the same time!
You’re such a natural beauty, how do you stay so flawless?
My go to beauty lines are MAC and my Zinc. I don’t do make-up during the week because I’m in the water so much. But to Glam it up I always choose Mac
I see the boots Sting Dolls wear, YIKES! What do you wear for comfort when you aren’t at Sting?
You can usually find me barefoot when I’m not at work but if I have to wear shoes my favorite pair are my Converse! I came close to losing them one night at work and I almost had a heart attack!
You’re such an outdoorsy girl, is it safe to say that the rooftop is your favorite floor at Stingaree?
Pretty much! I love working the Roof!! Even though I’m not a smoker and not a fan of it either, to say the least but I love the zen. I enjoy the Buddhas and the warm summer nights. I love to be outside, even though the Roof can get hectic and really busy too sometimes!
Thanks for hanging with us and bringing us to your beautiful neighborhood! You’re so fun and we can’y get enough of your cute accent! How can we stay up to date on your adventures?
