STING DOLLS: MEET AMANDA
“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.”
If you’ve been to Stingaree lately you’ve had to of seen our blonde, blue-eyed beauty and newest member of the Sting Dolls. That head turning hottie is Miss Amanda! Amanda by day, “Champagne Amanda,” by night for her love of PJ and Dom Perignon, Amanda joined our bubbly loving team in August and quickly became one of the dolls. With her sweet charm and bubbly personality it’s easy to say that she was the missing piece to our Sting Doll family puzzle.
When she’s not popping her favorite bottle of Champagne on the weekends, Amanda is suited up and headed to her day job as an Account Executive for a health information management company. On her off nights, Amanda enjoys drinking wine under the stars and competing in a local beach volleyball league named, I’d Hit That. The athletics don’t stop there though; we recently learned that our doll is also a trained equestrian! From volleyball nets to saddles, Amanda always stays fit and active.
Amanda invited us to Ocean Beach Thursday night to watch her volleyball team practice. Afterwards we chatted over a bonfire about her upcoming birthday and what Champagne she’s looking forward to popping on her special day!
Nice set Amanda! You are a natural out there! How long have you been playing volleyball?
I played volleyball in high school and semi-pro thereafter. Currently I’m on a beach volleyball team, I’d Hit That. We usually play out at Ocean Beach on Thursday nights. We celebrate after with either a bonfire on the beach or Pho and Sake at OB Noodle House.
Who doesn’t love a reason to celebrate? Speaking of, don’t you have a birthday to celebrate soon?
I sure do! October 19th and I can hardly wait! My family and I have plans to go wine tasting in Paso Robles and to take our horses to the beach!
We’re looking forward to celebrating with you when you get back! Next best thing to wine is Champagne, what kind will you be popping this year?
PJ Blanc to Blanc is my favorite!
The classiest of ways to celebrate! Cheers to your birthday! Anything special you’re secretly hoping to get?
I would really, really like a Teacup Yorkie!! I already have two pets, Valentino a toy Pomeranian and Cookie, a Palomino horse, but having one more would just be so fun!
Did you say horse? How fun! How long have you had him/her?
For 10 years. We trained and raised Cookie ourselves as a baby and have had him ever since. We won a huge Western Pleasure circuit horse show in Santa Barbara in 2008. I’m looking forward to spending some time with him when I go home for my birthday. My mom and I go galloping with the horses through avocado fields and along the beach.
Sounds so beautiful. Where are you from?
I was born in Los Angeles. Grew up in Germany, Washington D.C. and then moved back to California to settle in Santa Barbara. My family still lives up north, I like getting to go home and spending time with my mom…we’re really close.
It’s always nice to stay close with family, what are some Turner family traditions?
Christmas is our favorite holiday. I love getting to spend time with extended family. We all help in the kitchen but my specialty is making a Kahlua marbled pumpkin cheesecake. After we eat we take turns belting out songs on the karaoke machine.
We love karaoke! What’s your go-to song?
“Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence
Thanks for spending the day with us! How can others wish you a happy birthday?
